Either way, today is the most exciting day we've had as USF fans since early signing day.   So much to be excited about as a fan right now.

I just love that we're going back to an offense that's based on speed and creating mismatches with that speed.

Did anyone notice that one of the assistants he's bringing is Andrew Robustelli? This was his grandfather: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Robustelli. Pretty cool.

I'm surprised Joey didn't through in a 2112 reference for the assumed control comment.

“Coach (Charlie) Strong’s given me total control to go in and run my own system,” said Bell

For older folks or history majors, anyone reminded of Al Haig after Reagan was shot (I am in total control)?

Hope this works out better!

Part of my thinks Gilbert had total control of the offense as well, but he just didn't know what he was doing.  The numbers he put up didn't turn into important wins or touchdowns especially in the 2nd half of the season.

I feel much better about Bell being in total control.

I've thought this for a while.  I haven't seen anything (other than on here) to contradict that.

I thought no he did. Wasn't there a press conference where there was a question about some in game decision and Charlie basically said he didn't know why, that he isn't involved in the offense.

I'm old enough to remember him playing for the Giants.  Think they also had Rosie Gieir before he went to the Rams, **** Modzuleski and Jim Katcavage on that line.  Sam Huff was a great middle linebacker at the time.  And now I couldn't tell you any of the Giants linemen. Tough to get old.

Edit:  So the one guys name would be a name that rhymes with click.

I don't think he did. The ONLY reason I say that is there was a game (either the bowl game or vs. the Cent Fl Golden Knights) where it was clear he wanted to be aggressive and Charlie quite demonstratively said no (this was all captured by the cameras). It was whatever game where USF got the ball with about 25 second left in the half around the 30. Gilbert pulled his hat down pretty angrily.

I get that is one snapshot of one time management decision, but my guess is Strong influenced other conservative calls as well.
