This team reminds me of 2015. They have not learned how to blow out teams. Last year I felt confident that we would blow teams out and this year every game feels like a toss up because we dont do anything well consistently.

We are young but we have battled through adversity on the field the last two weeks and come out on top.  Those are huge confidence-builders for a young team.

Hope we can keep it up.  I trust CCS and the team to keep things pointed in the right direction.

When I watched the recording, CCS looked like he was giving Wilkins some serious **** walking off the field. Anybody know what that was about?

Might have had something to do with the fact that an Illini receiver was left wide open for the game winning touchdown if their QB hadnt overthrown the hell out of it

They were probably licking their chops watching us play Illinois. Illinois game planned very well against our offense and we didn’t execute well at all, and also shot ourselves in the foot multiple times. I’m hoping we come out firing on all cylinders. I got really frustrated by long yardage plays only to see us run it up the gut for 2-3 yards the next down.

If we gain over 600 yards against every team that game plans against our offense very well, we wont lose too many games.

We had a lot of points taken off the board against Illinois by either, as you said, self-inflicted mistakes, and by questionable officiating.  Made the score look a lot closer than what the game really was.

Just go out and win. UNC is a dumpster fire this year, but end of day ECU trashed them and that's something to be respected. Two weeks to prepare does bother me. Sure, they've been worried about their family. But they got rested and they have confidence from their last game.

I will point out what happened the last time CCS got upset at the team. They took the Tulane game and waxed them for three quarters. Hoping for a bit more of a complete effort here though.

Anyone have access to the ECU boards?  Curious what their fans are saying about this game.

If ECU isn't a gimme along with Tulane, Tulsa, UConn, SMU, then we should cancel all threads relating to getting into the CFP and/or a P5 conference

We have a tendency to play down to our competition.

ECU should be a gimme if we play up to our level. Got to fix the gap assignments and get rid of the “bend don’t break” defense.

were so bipolar on offense it’s gard to say what we’ll do. If Gilbert can actually string together two good quarters of play-calling we should be fine. If he pulls another Illinois where he’s complete crap for the first three, then we may have issues.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
