1. During our expansion, we had open slots available. So somebody had to join the AAC   2. UCF at the time i think was one of the top 2 of best teams in the CUSA. Would you rather we have chosen LA Tech, Rice or Southern Miss instead of the MORE QUALIFIED UCF b/c you are scared of them?  UCF came to the AAC and kicked more ass than we did. The only way we could have stopped that was by beating them and winning our games and we didnt. Voting them from joining the league b/c you can't handle the competition is a girly move. This is football...its a competitive sport.....people compete......that's life. USF did not help UCF acheive their success. UCF achieved their success on their own. Instead of crying about UCF's accomplishments and acceptance into the conference, just have faith in your current team and keep it moving. It shouldn't matter if UCF is in the AAC or not if we are taking care of OUR business on the football field.  Had we won our games, AAC titles, made it to a BCS bowl game and NY6 game then it wouldn't matter if UCF was in the AAC or not. I can't believe this is even a real discussion.

You are right it is about competing but it’s not about competing on the field when it comes to conference affiliation, it’s about competing for scarce resources. UCF is close to us and competing for the the same resources and maintaining a competitive advantage over them isn’t girly it’s what any business does if it’s looking to stay in business very long. UF isn’t looking to welcome us into the SEC, FSU isn’t petitioning the ACC for us, the bucs, bolts, rays and magic would fight tooth and nail against a Lakeland team and USF would have been better off with Southern Miss than UCF.  It really is quite simple and obvious.
