Blocked kicks simply can't happen on a regular basis like it is. I've never seen anything like what is happening with our ST unit

Spin zone- Maybe we are holding our blocking scheme close to the vest? I mean, we haven't really played anyone. Why show Houston and UCF how we plan to block on ST?

GENIUS!! Let's keep our powder dry for every aspect of the game until we're in a hole so deep we can't get out of it.

We are terrible at kick blocking. I've never seen anything like this.

Kicker is slow too ... accurate kicker, but he is slow to the ball and winds up

Excellent point. I was going to say that but was not sure if it was just me noticing this.

Was wondering if we were setting a new team record for most FGs and/or PATs blocked in one season - sure feels like it.

I haven't determined that yet, however, I can tell you this.

Last season, we finished 84th in the country in blocked kicks allowed.  28 teams tied with us at #84 with three blocks allowed.

This year we are alone at the absolute bottom of the list, #129 with six blocked in 7 games.

Whether or not that is a record high, requires additional research.

Sort of humorous San Jose State is #128 and Temple is #126.  Better watch the company you keep.  :)

This is actually the ONLY thing that concerns me about this team currently.  I'm not sure how this is still happening seven weeks into the season.  Maybe we need to put starters into the kicking team, but that could cause us big issues in a close game.  Actually, the Tulane game was close mostly because of the blocked kicks.

You could say that.  But this is the same guy from the last two years and how many were blocked then?

Agree.  It’s primarily scheme and blocking, however, you also wonder if it stood out on tape and new coaches in conf noticed

Tulane had 10 men!   Inexcusable!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
