Was his success at L'ville because of Kragthorpe's players?

Clint Hurtts UM defections didn't hurt. Wonder if Teddy got some  Adidas  $$$$

Not sure what you mean by different coach? I think he's out after this year if he gets an offer from a respectable(football wise) school.

Of course they do, but it's easier for an AD to sell its school on a coach that pushed us to an undefeated season. I definitely give credit for keeping the team together and overall has done just as good as Willie.

The post that I responded to said "If he doesn't get out after the season and he is coaching a 6-6 USF team next year it might take him years to be an attractive candidate again."  So is he an 11-2 coach or a 6 - 6 coach in the eyes of the P5 teams that would consider him?  I would think that any semi intelligent AD would see that he had success in the Big East and now the AAC but not the P5.  Just because he went 11 - 2 with a stacked roster in a lower league against mediocre opponents doesn't mean that he won't revert back to UT records.

Edit: I guess you could argue that the Big East was part of the P6.  But it was certainly thought of as the weakest conference by many.

He road Bridgewater to Austin.

I hate when college coaches get good players and end up having a good team because of it.

Here is a list of Tennessee's next coach. Looks like CCS didn't make the cut.

I forgot about Chip Kelly.. That would be a home run hire!

Full circle with Tee Martin and Peyton Manning

Just 1 question....

Who in their "Right" mind would want to coach at Ole Miss.

Location?

In same division with Alabama & Auburn......

Lose - Lose

Really depends on the long term outlook.  He can go to ole Miss, sign a five year $22 million dollar deal, get his ass handed to him for five years and then what? He'd be a two time failure and in his mid 60's and might get another gig at a G5.

If he passes on that and stays here he may make $40 million over ten years.  Or leave for an actual good opportunity in a couple more years.

I'm not so sure the math works out at every P5 school.

IF our turnout keeps steadily sucking, does this hurt Charlie’s odds of staying? I’m nervous about this weekend and it’s obvious he’s not a fan of it. He still gets paid, he’s still getting wins, but is the environment enough to push him away sooner?

Our attendance imo is going to improve over the next few weeks. CCS publically complaining about attendance does nothing to improve things. Both CCS and USF need to do a better job promoting the games. The team has been doing amazing things, but imo the gameday atmosphere is lacking.

When coaches complain about attendance it's a slap in the face to the fans who are showing up. Most of us on here never miss a game, go to away games etc. He'd be better off being positive.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
