Does anybody know offhand how much we profit from our games played at Raymond James? Just doing the math, let's say we go with 40-45K and keep 8-10K for students. Let's use a base ticket sales of 35K. 35K x (let's say) an average ticket price of $50 (it's probably higher than that, but let's play the lower end), comes out to over $12 million, just in ticket sales, without the Glazers/TSA getting any cut of that. Throw in concessions, parking, suite sales, naming rights and advertising at the stadium, it seems like there's a crapload of money to be made there.

I'm in the mindset of, build it when we can afford to do it right, I love the comforts of RayJay, but it seems like there's a s--tload of money potentially on the table. But then, I don't know off the top how much we make in profit playing at RayJay

We don't see any concession money. We pay $1 M. I believe we get a quarter or so of ticket income? We are clearly a rental at RayJay (again not a bad thing.)

Ionbull, please take out the word "regardless" when you do your poll.

Why?  Pretty sure there are people on this site who could care less what the cost would be and would be just fine with a wobbling wok like UCF's stadium.

Any report that does not support an OCS is fake news!

Just curious, why?

"The 2012 season marked the last of six straight seasons in which USF averaged better than 40,000 fans, highlighted by a record average of 53,170 fans per game in 2007."

To build demand. If we sell out 5 years in a row at 40K, then we can look into expansion of seating.

Wow, miss a day or so on here and have 15 pages to catch up on on this topic.  So, when is the OCS being built?  I believe after the next study into the finances we'll have a better idea if/when it could be done.  If we go with $200 million and can only raise $50 million and must finance the rest I'm not too sure how feasible it is financially.  But an interesting note, speaking with people in the Foundation, some think it is a definite need while others think it will be too expensive.  Kind of sounds like this Board.  If a decision is made to build one then consensus building will be very important.  And everyone on here that wants the stadium will sign an agreement to donate $10k a year for 5 years, right?

We're quoting Soul Asylum on here? Matchbox Twenty says, "...she thinks that happiness is a mat that sits in her doorway."

To put that cost in perspective folks, UCF spent $65 million in 2016 money on their stadium.

Make no mistake. This is a pretty ambitious project.

And they built the Basketball Arena at the same time IIRC. USF will get this done, its a matter of time, and the time has come IMO.

LOL  what exactly has UCF gotten out of having an OCS that we haven't?  They're in the same boat we are.  Edit:  and please don't talk about increased fan support.  They got that because they had a good enough team to win the first two AAC conference championships.  We all saw how empty their stadium was two years ago when they sucked.

And I find it hilarious that you want people to stop bringing up the WVU game in 2007, yet you've complained twice about USF not putting a stadium up a decade ago.

While, I generally agree that we do NOT need an OCS. This argument isn't the best...

UCF has been able to build some great overall facilities; and their alumni fan base is growing rapidly... Over the last 5 years; their average actual attendance has outpaced ours...

Remember, this school ended up in the same boat since rising; we fell down to their level.
