I perfer Stanford's Stadium. Two thirds of the stadium is under ground, you can use the earth for supports and that would really lower the cost. Exapansion is easy since the lower deck will not need strong supports. An upper deck wold be built like the lower deck of most other stadiums.

StadiumHeader.jpg

  • 25,500 capacity
  • 360 lower bowl
  • Canopy to enhance crowd noise and provide shelter from sun / rain
  • Field sunken 8' below ground level to offer spectacular views from street level
  • All natural grass playing surface
  • Single deck safe-standing supporter section
  • Expansive fan plaza spanning 10,000 square feet

I think this design would be a great start. Probably bump up capacity by 5-10k. Cost is a bit steep at $150 million but USF would have the most spoiled fans in the AAC.

Tulane's stadium shows you can shoehorn a stadium into a very small footprint.

I'll say.  Where are people parking?  Are those parking garages next door?

Should it be turf or natural grass?

Also if they can manage to allow the potential of a retractable roof, that would be huge.

I liked the way this one looks because it reminds me of the old Business Bunker stomping grounds.  I love a nice bowl look too.

JMU built this one for $62 but that was a long time ago.

Play the FSUs, UMs, UFs at Ray Jay or another neutral field

Ah you know what?  I would totally be down with that.  Otherwise, make it a 40K tops on campus.  There's no need for all the empty seats and 40k consistently would be freaking fantastic in the AAC.  If we get into another conference, then maybe drop for expansion because you would have more attendance at some home games.  We could also get Joey Knight out of the attendance policing business.

Wake Forest doesn't look bad. More seats in 1 endzone, leave the other open for expansion.

Also like TCU (45k capacity)
