50K.  Big teams won't come to town for much less and it gives us a chance to grow into it.  It makes more sense to build it now as it would be more cost effective.  We wouldn't be saving much money with it being 40,000 seats compared to 50,000.

Very nice except, this is Florida. Most of the states land surface lies on top of what used to be wetlands. These areas are known for their layers of plant matter which often times are supported by naturally occurring subsurface springs. When the springs dry up or too much weight is placed on the surface, sink holes occur. So digging into the ground and thinning the surface layer isn't a good idea.

 

My point is that a Stadium of this design isn't going to be at the top of the list in Florida. Just saying.

Whatever we build, it needs to be able to be roofed. Maybe not on Day One, but there really needs to be a provision for a roof/dome/retarct/whatever. This is Florida. It's GOING to rain. In bunches. And SHINE. All over ever'buddy! Besides, the right kind of roof can make the noise exquisitely painful!

Aluminum benches in the corners and end zones, Individual seats between the 30's. And the seats should have plastic bottoms for coolness, and metal backs for noise. Imagine a back that kinda looked like this, but was hollow, like a cowbell. And then imagine 30K people sneaking in wooden drumsticks and beating on the chairback in front of them. Stanford is built on top of a mountain, USF is virtually in a swamp. Dig 12 inches and you're going to get 10 inches of water

Build a stadium you can fill every game and if you get to the point where you are turning people away for a few years, then expand it.
