Blindsided?  We have had about a week of this talk with many signs pointing to him leaving.  ANYONE who feels blindsided was not paying attention.  CWT could have squashed all of this early on like a number of other candidates, but he did not for a reason.

USF will never emerge from "sleeping giant." This is who we are, guys. Might as well get used it. 

I don't know if I'll be interested in USF football if we pull another .500-ish season.  

I get your point, but aside from Taggart when have we had a coach that ditched the program for bigger schools? We've only had 3 coaches and 2 of them were fired. 

Also, WKU has had major success since CWT left them (they won CUSA too I think). Our major competition for next year, Houston and Temple, will also have new coaches. We aren't done.

I think this is the case. From what I've seen, he got the offer last night and contract talks lasted for a bit. Probably didn't want to send a mass text at 5 am to the players when he could talk to them today.
