Chase Litton being interviewed on espn.  I wonder what could have been there sometimes.

Quinton Flowers 163 276 2296 59.1 8.32 22 8 149.4
Chase Litton 207 349 2387 59.3 6.84 22 7 133.6

Flowers also ran for 991 yards. Litton looks good, but we should be happy we finally found a QB.

I can never hope that Houston wins. No way.

The board has many members.

Some speak up excited about "meaningful" bowl games...others find them nearly meaningless unless they are the playoff bowls.

Perfectly normal to have two sides to the argument.  It's not necessarily people switching their opinion because USF, or AAC teams lost.

I remain in the corner of them being meaningless, outside the extra practices a team gets.

They certainly did not seem meaningless when we went four years without one.

Certainly not meaningless when viewed as an indicator of a team's season success.  But a won/loss record can tell you that too.

I picked all of the aac teams, except houston, to lose their bowl games.   The matchups were just not favorable.  We got a very good and senior-laden wku squad looking to get payback on taggart. Cincy had to travel all the way to hawaii without gunner kiel.  Temple is a boring and easily beatable team for anyone with a pulse on offense.  Same for uconn.  Tulsa isn't beating va tech in the beamer bowl.

The conference was put in some tough games.  Or..... the conference is overrated

Don't we have prospects in attendance at these meaningless games?

If we choose to invite them, perhaps.

But seriously, we could just disagree on the definition of meaningless, too.

Bowls are important, if only because ESPN is going to give the AAC hell for doing so poorly. Giving them ammunition to have a different conference in the New Years bowl game next year. So in that respect, bowl season is not going well for the AAC.

I don't really care about our conference though. USF got a bunch of extra practices for a young team, and our players/fans got a trip to Miami. I was so starved for a bowl game trip that I'm not even upset we lost, it was a great game.

pretty much my take as well. Once we drifted into the 3-hour-broadcast-window mentality, which of course led to the losing-record bowl participants, bowl games (with the exception of a handful of those with tradition or national championship implications) are more or less good entertainment. They prove nothing. It's water cooler conversation about how conference-x fared post season, but by this point in time, we're just idling for the 'big' games.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
