Fingers crossed! If he gets the waiver approved, that will just means we have another option at QB and it improves everything.

Football gods: you owe us!

Football gods already gave us Reilly Gibbons this year ... let's not be greedy.

The academic committee the football gods have controlled for years have maligned USF football for far too long.

I agree with BasketBull ... the gods owe us.

I believe the academic committee has been gone for awhile now ...

Hooked another one ... starting to make up for the pisspoor fishing trip I was on a couple weekends ago ...

Weak.

FWIW.....Asiantii tweeted a few days ago 'Man it's looking great...God is good!' two days after tweeting 'Praying God gives me the clearance to go right away without having to sit a year.'

Honestly, he wouldn't know if it looked good or not.  The only part of the process he is previ too is the application process... So basically the school files his paperwork and then the two of them are in the dark.  This is a shot in the dark and after having mentioned to a friend in compliance, they don't really expect it to get approved but you don't know if you don't try.

He could have been talking about his eggs and bacon, that's why I put FWIW.  Somebody from the school could have a contact with the NCAA with an indication, but it doesn't really matter anyway.

  ... Son, I've forgotten more about troll discernment than you'll ever know.  Honestly, though, I didn't even look at who posted it before replying, assumed it was one of the myriad of newbies who may not be aware the dreaded AC is gone. If you're really serious about getting into the trolling business, check out GoBulls84 on the Rumors thread. This was a poor attempt ...

I'm not getting my hopes up here, but can't we assume that if they submitted the waiver request that they came up with SOME quasi-viable rationale?   Perhaps there is something going on in his life with family back here that could justify a waiver.  I doubt they could submit a waiver with the rationale:  "Just because he wants to play here".    I'm certainly not hoping he has any family issues, but I'm really hoping he gets to play.   I actually think getting the 3rd playing year is more important than avoiding skipping a year.

Hooking a newbie is like a dolphin charter in the Keys. There's no skill involved.

It seems to be a rather general "family issues" waiver.  A sickness in the family seems to be the #1 reason to be granted a waiver, though obviously there are other scenarios that could apply.  Historically about 50% have been approved, though our approval percentage seems to be higher.

Of note, this process will change once the school year starts up.  Player will be forced to sit out the year, but may be granted a sixth year of eligibility if they need it.  Sounds like the threshold for approval will be much lower once the new process goes into effect.

In an interview Jim Mora he mentioned that there were some family issues.

“There were some family issues,†Mora continued. “He wanted to get closer to home. He was struggling a little bit. And I hope he does well.â€

In Woulard's case I'd prefer the new rule to be in effect.  Make him sit out, but add another year of eligibility.

Seeing how I don't think that's a possible scenario, I hope he gets the waiver and can play this year.

I'm honored.  I'm one of the few posters on here to "trip" up the very detail-oriented, resident TBP Semantics Master on a post.  I'll be honest ... that just made my day.  I'm sure it will be a while before you fail to fully read through another post on here, Trip.  Only thing is you don't see it was a great attempt because it caused you to let down your guard.  Boom!  Gotya!

P.S.  The GoBulls84 post on the Rumors thread is entertaining, but using that as an example of a great troll ... YGBFKM.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
