I like the AAC. I find being a medium sized fish in a large lake is much more entertaining than being a small fish in an ocean. I like that we are looked up to by some if not all in this conference (maybe not Memphis or UCF) when in the Big East we were laughed at by all. I like not being the joke of the NCAAs anymore. I think in a few years, maybe even a decade, we will look back on this and think, wow, this chance to step back and rebuild something with a foundation was the best thing we could have done.

I like what we've done to recover and I like where we are going and I like ice cream.

I like ice cream, too, but I must have missed something.  What have we done to recover?  Or do you mean that what we've done is going to lead to a recovery in the near future?  I hope we can pull the nose up on this thing soon.

We have begun to recover. And when I say recover I am looking at the entire athletic department not just one sport. We have landed solidly as a middle fo the pack school with an enormous ceiling in a better than average conference. We have begun to make strides to get to the top of the pack and personally I think sports like basketball, golf, tennis, baseball softball are the leading indicators. The whole thing will solidify when football turns the corner. Look at the big picture, one that doesnt necessarily include clawing our way into a P5 conference until we are ready.

Definitely agree on the athletic dept as a whole. I was referring to just the football program. Go Bulls.

It's not about money. It's about relevance. Meaningful games. Competing at a high level. Winning the Sun Belt isn't what most backed in the days you say we "crapped".

The easier path is to lie down into the oblivion of the AAC.

Not sure I understand what you're saying there. The only way USF could be relevant to you, play games you consider meaningful and compete at a high level was to be in a BCS, now P5, conference?

And the only path USF has right now is to "lie down into the oblivion of the AAC" ...

Not playing meaningful games? Meaningful to who? I could care less about Michigan and USC or the Iron Bowl, or any other 'big' game because those games are meaningful to their fans and because they have been in the NC hunt, ESPN. The most meaningful game to me is the next USF game and I don't care what the outside world thinks. And USF competes on a level higher than about 600 other colleges.

I just love football. That is all. So I can enjoy my team in any conference.

I am with you on this Tally. I have not missed a USF football game on TV or in person in 13 years. I watch Tuesday pressers, listen to the radio show on Wednesdays, watch the coaches TV show, and listen to pre and post game radio coverage. Hell, I even watch our opponent's coaches show on occasion. I know it is crazy but win or lose I am all in.

Meaningful meaning there's an ultimate goal.  I guess if you're still hung up on a conference championship that will eventually happen if this league stays together.

I was hoping we'd be positioned for more than that.  Don't get excited.  I'm not being critical of your enjoyment in the AAC.  To each his own.

This fanbase has been looking past the conference championship to the National Championship since day one. Being #2 for a week with a team that ended the season out of the top 25 made it that much worse. And the P5 has teams in the same boat. They don't even have a chance at a conference championship much less a national one.
