Pure incompetence and total lack of vision that the mentioned questions haven't been answered before.

If you think that this is the first time these questions have come up and been discussed at the leadership level, you are wrong.
Why don't they already have the answers? Edited by Gismo

They did - decided it wasn't feasible for a litany if reasons. Like you, I hope this administration analyzes things differently, but it's not like nobody thought about this last time around.

A new home for the Rays and Bulls? Published: September 13, 2014

I served on the Florida State Fair Authority for almost 16 years, and during that time many issues came up regarding the best use of the over 300 acres of property that is controlled by the state. Now that we have the Tampa Bay Rays and the USF Bulls looking for new homes, maybe we should consider a multi-use facility that can accommodate both.

I am on record suggesting the baseball facility years ago, but Tallahassee was conflicted to use the property for that endeavor. We also were in discussions to develop the site for a multi-use hotel/entertainment destination, but again the government agency stymied those plans. The property is at the apex of major interstate highways serving Lakeland, Orlando, Sarasota, Bradenton and other communities. There is enough property to serve many venues, and it is being wasted. The fair can still operate to the enjoyment of the community. What’s the problem? Do you think they are waiting for the right offer from the Hard Rock Casino to proceed?

Joe Voskerichian

Tampa

I took the opportunity to point out that the Bulls are not looking for a new home. The only "home" that the University is interested in would be one built on Fowler Avenue, not another joint-occupancy shared-purpose professional venue.

If they build an on campus stadium, I'm going to dread having to park at the University Mall and walking over with my family

I'll just have to decide which poison to take - get towed by Parking Services, or by Stepps towing from the University Mall

We can't even fit the students that current ATTEND the campus, on the campus. How are we going to fit another 15,000 cars PLUS a huge stadium on that campus?

It's going to be just like attending classes, with the jam packed student lots and empty faculty lots.

The one thing USF does NOT get right, is the parking situation. It was terrible in 1996 when I started at USF, it was terrible in 2001 when I graduated. It was terrible in 2008 when I went back for my Masters, and it was terrible in 2011 when I finished.

When ya'll are parking at the Adventure Island parking lot, you'll understand what the point I'm trying to make. An OCS will be a purposely engineered disaster

Parking is scarce at every university and they're game days are fine.

Parking is good at USF compared to many universities. UCF seems to have a worse parking situation for students than USF.

And I can say Texas A&M parking is worse and a lot more annoying than parking at USF because there are no interior lots and you are restricted to one lot for the year, contrast to USF you can park in any S lot. At Texas A&M you may need to literally walk a mile or two to get to some of the other parts of campus. And Texas A&M's stadium can fit 88,000 and is being expanded to over 100,000. USF needs half of that and parking won't be any worse than any other university on game day.

Parking for games at USF would be fine.  It' might not be as convenient as RayJay, but it won't be as bad as UF or UCF.

Not sure when u went to UCF last but when we went to the game this past year(Black Friday) parking was a NON ISSUE. They built a parking garage across street from the BB arena, right off their Memory mall area.  About 2-3 block walk to the Football stadium.   Was easy access in and out.(they also ran shuttle service for those who didn't want to walk the 3 blocks)

When we went to Tally a few years back we parked at Convention center I Believe and took shuttle to and from the stadium( was a non issue) Same thing at Rutgers games, Park and ride shuttle.

USF would be smart to add a cpl of parking garages as well ( one near the Dome, one near the FB stadium.) they could make money off the parking spots.

A lot if most colleges have parking issues, With my Wisconsin tickets yesterday I got a letter telling me about parking issues ect...

I went to the game last year and parking and getting out was a joke.

Never understood students complaining about parking at USF. You are young, park your car, and walk your ass to class.

you must had parked in a bad spot, We got out super easy.   No issue for us and we had never been to that stadium before.  Yes we have the Sundome lot, But you cant have TOO many parking spaces.   Build the Lot Up turn it in to a garage.
