Why must our people make stupid decisions? This had better be beaten or his butt will be on the unemployment line, and we're not going to find a better DL coach right now.

He has 10 days to "protect" his license, or else it gets suspended  for 12 months, if this is his first refusal

Get ready to spend some money Coach.

Refused to blow? Doesn't it say on your driver's license that you must blow when asked or you lose the privilege of driving or some such?

I was given the same advice from a lawyer friend as FatDaddy.  If there is ANY chance you might blow above the BAC level, don't blow and refuse to do the field sobriety test.  Ask the officer to release you or take you in.  But NEVER give them the evidence that they need.  So the guy was sober enough to know that.

Edit: Having said that, you don't drink and drive.  My wife was driver last Friday after a tequila tasting at Berns for me and Ghost and his lovely bride and one of her friends.  Kind of hated to put out $80 for someone who was going to be tasting the tequila but you do what you have to do.  Having a DD or taking a cab is the best thing to do.

Basketball just hired Rod Strickland who has 4 (?) of these.  So firing isn't a foregone conclusion.

I don't think his firing is likely for this unless more and bad info may be revealed. He just gets pulled over and refuses to blow and didn't hit anything or drive egregiously- he easily fight it and still apologize for his errors.

Anyone know some precedent in this scenario? I cant think of any college coaches getting arrested for some reason.

Don't think he should be fired, but definitely a fine or suspension or something.
