What was he thinking......3:40AM @ Hyde Park Avenue South and Platt Street West.......a known cop DUI patrol area and hanging out with the young kids!   Probably drove the wrong way on a one-way but those cops tail you and pull you over for anything.

If he was drunk and driving he deserved to get pulled over. He could have killed someone.

The program has to punish him. You can't preach accountabilty to the p,ayers and then aloow coaches to break the law.

There are Taxi companies. UBER and LYFT. No excuses for drinking and driving. Some people feel that they are fine to drive and that may be the case, but it is against the law. And you cant go against the law and expect to win.

He didn't blow so we don't know how drunk he may or may not have been. I was advised by a lawyer that if I have more than one beer too never consent to a breathalyzer. He maybe was following that same logic.

That's certainly not the likelihood, but it's possible.

If the arresting officer's probable cause for the stop wasn't something obvious and egregious (like wrong way in a one way), Mathies should consider spending the steep price for the best firm in town to fully investigate and take this thing to trial because (so far) this is shaping up to be one of the DUI's a person has a real chance to beat.

Refused to blow? Doesn't it say on your driver's license that you must blow when asked or you lose the privilege of driving or some such?
