Like mentioned on page one, it really makes you wonder what kind of attitude Heath was instilling in the players. They quit on the court, and now they are all quitting the team. These guys are weak. I hope coach O replaces them with guys who aren't quitters. ...like transfers from other schools? I see extending my logic to all transfers would mean the incoming transfers are quitters too. One or two transfers from a team is more understandable, but we have like half of the team giving up on their teammates and not even giving the new staff a chance. Weak. It's not weak at all. You can't have it both ways. By your criteria, Canty is doing the exact same thing our guys did, giving up on his teammates ... in fact, by YOUR thinking, Canty's worse because he's quitting on more teammates ... unless there's also a mass exodus from Marshall. Giving up on Marshall is acceptable. Giving up on USF is not. LOL .... I appreciate your honesty.
CyberBull Posted April 22, 2014 Group: Member Topic Count: 433 Content Count: 2,657 Reputation: 38 Days Won: 1 Joined: 10/04/2000 Share Posted April 22, 2014 For me, this is not just the usual fallout from a coaching change. This is another symptom in a continuing pattern of failures by the athletic department. You can blame Stan Heath, you can blame the kids, but the reality is the program is going back to square one AGAIN and, for me, under a coach that I have no confidence that he can get it done. I'm not saying he won't, I'm saying there's nothing that gives me confidence that better days are ahead. If you see it, you're just holding on to wishful thinking, because there is no track record to show it. The exact same thing goes for football. Being an assistant to John Calipari and Jim Harbaugh doesn't make you John Calipari and Jim Harbaugh. And you'll never see me bragging about recruiting class rankings. The only thing that matters is on-field performance. I don't want to argue with fellow Bulls. That's not my aim. I'm just a guy who - in the past - has been as close to the program as you can get. It's painful to see what's happening and I can't pour my heart and soul into it anymore. I did that for years. Again, Brad will vouch. I don't get it. The two major sports are under going a transformation ... The Athletic Department itself is under going a transformation. Are you saying these changes shouldn't have been made? Why are you leaving NOW?? And I do agree with you wholeheartedly about the bragging about recruiting. It's great to do as a placebo in the offseason, especially after **** seasons but it means nothing until it translates into wins ... and Stan is apparently a perfect example of that. CWT has apparently done a great job of getting talent here but the proof will still be in the pudding. COA and gang are apparently working their asses off to get the talent here on a short notice but even when/if they do, it won't mean a thing until it produces wins. This is actually a pretty exciting time for USF Athletics, in a edge of your seat type way, so I really can't imagine walking away right now. Good stuff. In some way, being the underdog and fighting for respect is how I grew up being a Bulls fan. I saw way too many bandwagoners with a sense of entitlement during our Jim Leavitt salad days that made many fans think we were farther ahead than we were. In a way, as Brad is fond of saying, being ranked #2 in the country for that fleeting week may have been the worse thing that ever happened to this athletic program. It spoiled our fanbase who had no idea how fortunate we were to be in that position ....but it gave Woolard et al a false sense of security when in fact they really had nothing to do with that great start to the 2007 season. They were the ones that sat on their hands and threw away the gift of BCS status we were given. Just about every Woolard hire has been a flaming disaster. I don't count Coach Taggart b/c by 2012 Woolard was put on notice and was not really his decision to fire Lou's son. However....other folks can do what they want.....I am not going anywhere. He looked like he was always hustling from one end of the court to the other. Hate to see him go.

This guy just got himself a girlfriend, he also seem to enjoy the tweet that says USF is his team now. Just relax right folks. These guys broadcast their entire day on twitter and quote others, gotta be careful trying to draw conclusion from any tweet that doesn't somehow relate to a basketball statement or remark. I honestly didn't think Egbunu would leave, I think that is a big loss. He wasn't great on offense, but he played hard and his Defense was something we really needed. If perry is staying, I hope he is hitting the Gym this summer improving on his defense becuase last year he was a fouling machine in foul trouble every other game. At this point we only have 2 big men left and Jordan Omogbehin is not very good, but I think he can be a decent player if some one can condition him and work on his mobility. There were some players that were transferring if Heath wasn't let go as well.

"It was a good experience, but I think I could've played a lot better if I played more," Hawkins said. "The lack of playing time the last two years discouraged me at one point and at one point I wanted to leave my freshman year, but I stuck it out. I was a little discouraged this year, too, but I just take it as motivation to work harder to get where I want to be these next three years." "I think I got better but I just couldn't display my game as much as I wanted to these first couple of years but with me headed into the right direction I get to display my game with these next two years of my eligibility," Hawkins said. http://www.mlive.com/sports/flint/index.ssf/2014/04/flints_javontae_hawkins_says_g.html#incart_river_default Edited April 22, 2014 by Vega
