I think he gets one more year with a short leash.

A change of coaches doesn't make our 3 true freshmen upper classmen.

Do you really fire a coach that was missing one of the best point guards in the country and played most of the year with 3 true freshmen as main contributors?

This team was what? 6 or 7 points away from being an 18 or 19 win team?

If this team was comprised of mostly seniors and we were starting with so many new starters next year I would not hesitate to make a change, but the foundation is set.

By that way of thinking Holtz should have had one more year.  A loss is a loss.

Difference between Holtz and Heath is almost all of Holtz' talent was graduating and left the cupboard bare. With Holtz it would have been the same result.

If he is here next year he has lots of work to do.

If he is gone I would not be surprised.

This was a disappointing season to say the least. I really believed we had an NIT team on our hands.

We will miss Rudd and Brock next season.

We will miss Rudd and Brock next season.

I don't know what kind of leader Rudd is, but his experience will be missed most. The points be replaced. If Corey Allen took as many shots as Rudd he scores about the same amount. Not as much flair, but similar shooting % at half the shots.

Brock, eh. His points will be replaced (less than 10 a game) hopefully by better foul shooters. A couple of those one point losses were games where he was less than stellar at the line.

We brought in Heath because McCullum was overwhelmed in the Big East, and now Heath is overwhelmed in the AAC.

I give him another year based on Perry/Egbunu.

I remain concerned by the performance on the court though.  I'd like to see us play a more complete game.

Losing Rudd and Brock seriously hurts a Stan Heath type of offense.

Serious question, what offense? I see an improvised half court style offense where we try to force feed the post players, and if that doesn't work, then everyone just stands around the perimeter hoping not to get the ball with the shot clock winding down. And call me crazy, but I think with both Brock and Rudd gone, I think the locker room will be a much more team-oriented place again. Leaders will have to step up, but I think the seniors' graduation may give us a boost in morale, assuming Heath is allowed to stay. With four years left on his contract, I think we get to see Heath coach next season. We can't afford to pay yet another coach to not be here.

What PeT said ... Plus I think the current de facto leadership vacuum in the AD will prevent any major coaching changes from taking place.
