Bringing Stan Heath back is like throwing away another season for a turnaround. Stan has made a lot of money in his very substandard coaching career. No one should feel sorry for him as none of us could suck nearly as bad and keep our jobs. The inside of a studio or an asst coach position will keep Stan around basketball for a long time still to come.

All this "wait to next season" stuff with Stan needs to end. This mighty jump he supposedly can make next season could be delusional thinking. Losing Rudd and Brock seriously hurts a Stan Heath type of offense. Gaining Collins does not outweigh losing those two. Heath needs guys that can get their own shot and score. Who is that guy going to be next season? He is not on the current roster and Holston certainly isn't looking ready to carry an offense as a true freshman. I mean look at the production USF got from Rudd and Brock and still finished in last place. Josh Heath did a pretty good job of imitating Collins and USF still lost.

A lot of people are putting a lot of faith in Collins for next year.  We don't know if he is healthy now and if he will be next year - or if he will be with this team next year.

That's true... I feel uncomfortable with so many unknowns.

I think he gets one more year with a short leash.

A change of coaches doesn't make our 3 true freshmen upper classmen.

Do you really fire a coach that was missing one of the best point guards in the country and played most of the year with 3 true freshmen as main contributors?

This team was what? 6 or 7 points away from being an 18 or 19 win team?

If this team was comprised of mostly seniors and we were starting with so many new starters next year I would not hesitate to make a change, but the foundation is set.

The main contributors were all upperclassmen. Rudd and Brock are gone man.

This team was also 6 or7 points away from winning fewer games then they already did.

I don't think he expected AAC teams to be this good and his players fed off that feeling in the offseason.  It may cost him his job but I don't have a problem with giving him another year.

I will understand if they keep him around, but would can his ass. He has had seven years to build a program, and this is what it is.
