Should Stan be given one more year or be let go asap?

I am really on the fence on this, would love to see what everyone thinks (this is currently being debated as part of other topics).

    On the positive side:

Best season in USF history only 2 years ago.

Loss of AC obviously hurt badly this year (how many more games would we have won if he was healthy?)

Shooting help on the way (Clayton and Troy H)

Coach appears to be a great guy (I know this really doesn't matter)

    Negative side:

Terrible offense (even during our best season two years ago)

Terrible collapses against below average losses

Donors and board ready to give up

    Thoughts?

One more year.  Remember that this isn't the most sought after location for BB coachs.  Next year will tell the tale.  With incoming shooters and a healthy AC; next year will be the make or break.

And Zeigler and Clayton hopefully suiting up and playing ... A case CAN be made for at least one more year ... but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he didn't get it.

    No.

Fire him after the next loss, choose the new AD already, and have him or her spend the rest of the tourney chasing the best coach we can get, regardless of what it costs us (remember, we still have exit fees coming our way for the next few years)

Very much on the fence. Really unacceptable that we found a way to lose today. I am so tired of that in USF sports.

But that's the EMOTION of one game. If you look at his whole body of work, the fact that AC was out, and the caliber of player we've been able to get, Heath has a strong case for just one more year. That's it after that, no more "awwwww it's ok". Eff it.

I think he gets literally one more season. If we start off doing terrible I'd be content with dropping him mid-season.

He should be gone now. Imagine what a coach who knows how to get the most from his team would do in his place. Should we really continue to have top 25 recruiting classes and be one of the worst teams in the country? I would bet anybody $100 that if Judy were coaching the team they would have the same record or better.
