I am behind a ocs. Something in the 45-50k range with room to expand to 75k.

If we do it we need to do it first class unlike ucf if that takes longer to save up money so be it.

Main priority should be getting football program winning again.

Parking is not an issue. There is no parking in Gainesville and somehow they manage to get 90k into the stadium. There not all students living on campus. You just park all over the place and have to walk, it adds to the experience as you walk past all the tailgaters spread around the campus. USF could not ask for a better advertisement of the school and campus if 40k were suddenly on the campus 6-7 times per year.

Ocs needs to be between 45-50 k. No less. USF showed between 2007 - 2010 that drawing 50 k is not a problem in the good times. Don't base needs based on a down period but for future growth. Another point, UCF stadium holds 45k. Do you really think USF is going to build one smaller. Not a chance. 45-50k seems right. Think minnesota or baylors stadiums. Perfect.

the topic that never ends and comes up whenever someone thinks "oh yeah-- that will solve all our problems"

with small crowds come smaller ticket revenues-- what business in its right mind EXPANDS when demand is falling? take a business course ffs

building it will happen someday, sure, but honestly why do you go buy a double-wide when your uncle let's you rent his ski lodge for a party you have 7 times a year?

oh-- so you can feel the pride of ownership and show off the campus-- gotcha.

You have a point to an extent but come on.... building an on campus stadium is an investment in your school/athletics program.

Colorado State's record the previous few seasons before announcing they're going to build an on campus stadium...:

2009: 3-9

2010: 3-9

2011: 3-9

2012: 4-8

2013: 7-6

It is not directly correlated to success in the wins and losses column. If the school can find a way to get the funds for it I don't see why any school would say no thanks....Unless you think Colorado State's ticket revenue is just through the roof right now...

Who's expanding?  Is that what you think spending money is?

Lots of struggling businesses reverse their fortune investing in their infrastructure or simply moving to a better location. . . . . . USF athletics needs to do both of these.

Wonder if they would start a PSL program with a new stadium. Wouldn't be surprising.

I would assume so, as that's pretty much the template in place elsewhere (http://www.charlotte49erfootball.com/purchase.html.).

and this ...

Pay to play...

Why does someone not start a committee and a legal organization designed to raise money to build the stadium?  Put together a business plan and go to our AD and propose it.

A bit small at 30,000, but I like that its more than just an aluminum circle like UCF, FAU, FIU.

Doug Woolard has said in interviews with 98.7 that if/when we build a stadium it will look more like Minnesota's TCF Bank stadium than anything else.

He also stated that there is already a spot on campus picked out for where the stadium will be built, its just a matter of prime "economical circumstances" now.

Currently seats 50,805 with a future expansion of 80,000 available.

Did I really just respond in ANOTHER OCS thread?......*sigh*
