To me, the silver lining was the validation of parting ways with Skip Holtz at the end of last season. At the time there were still some (albeit small) sentiments to give Holtz another year and let his players have more time to mature. His players just got dominated by an FCS team.

This situation would be a nightmare if Skip Holtz was still the coach of this team. There would be calls to fire him immediately and the University would probably be reluctant to make such a rash decision, the whole base would have lost confidence and essentially we would have had a lame duck all season. This would have further extended the rebuilding process and certainly would have hurt 2014 recruiting.

So to me, the silver lining is Skip Holtz is not here and the rebuilding is under way.

The only thing close to a silver lining for me is the fact that CWT said he knows who quit on the team and they will be dealt with.

Silver lining: we found a QB. Seemed like there was much uncertainty and indecisiveness around the QB position heading into the game. That should no longer be the case. Eveld has to be theman from here out.  He's the Sr., He's the leader, he can make the throws required of him, and this should be his team from here on out until someone steps up and rips it from his hands.

If he's the leader wouldn't he have been voted a captain? By the time Eveld got in there it was 40-7. Do you really think they were facing the same type defenses? I just don't think Matt's out of contention yet ...

If Floyd starts at QB against Sparty, their defense is going to look like the Harlem Globetrotters.

Okay. He needs to be the leader. He's the one that can execute what is being asked of him.

Not too many penalties. Comparatively.
