What did you see that gives you some optimism from Saturday's game.  I can't think of very many, but here are a couple.

1) Discovered a home run threat in Shaw.  Possibly the only bright spot. Looks like he could live up to expectations and become an 800-1,000 yard back this year.

2)  Discovered that Floyd definitely is not the anwer.  Possibly discoverd that Eveld is the quarterback this year.  TBD, but at least saw promise from a QB.  From what I saw he was very sharp, putting the ball on the money.  He had several flat out drops or his % would have been higher.  I turned game off, halfway through 4th when game got out of hand, but from what I saw 3rd and first part of 4th, he was sharp and threw a crisp, on target ball.

We don't have to worry about losing anyone to the draft and leaving a year or two early. That's nice.

Cliett is going to be the next great LB here at USF.

Taggart took the game to heart and it was nice to hear some passion in the post game press conference again

1)  Sadly, now opponents have film to study on him and will eventually contain him.  He couldn't get things going after McNeese make adjustments...

2)  Nobody is really the answer.  As was said to me at the game "If Floyd is the starter, that speaks volumes about the ones behind him".  We have 2 bench riders behind BJ, a transfer from PSU, and a true freshman.  Don't really have your pick of the litter...

But to address the silver lining, and I may get reamed for this, here's some optimism:  We got beat by McNeese State

I think that lights the fire, CWT makes adjustments, and the team Glory Road/Longest Yard/Remember the Titans/Rudy's together and turns it around completely. I mean, I could make the same case for App State vs Mich, and then winning the next 8 out of 9 gams, but Mich probably had a different talent level than us...

I feel pretty good about this coming week -- we definitely won't play as poorly as we did this past weekend, although I could be wrong.  Holtz surely ruined every ounce of drive this team might have had over the last few years.  And if that's the case, we're still left with his talent.  Sometimes stains are so deep in the carpet, you can't get them out

No silver lining from this game.

Shaw had an 80 yard break out. He had a great start, we got away from him.

I will not see Shaw any different from last season. I still see a talent that can break it all the way. Our OL must be punishers.

This game is the past and know we have more talent that what we produced Saturday night. The few that had great games is not the norm. Our talent will shine.

P.S. I still don't have a voice.

Go BULLS !!!

And they also played a different level of competition.

VaTech lost to Boise St and then to James Madison. They went on to win their conf.

I will not throw my hands up to this "piss poor" loss.

Go BULLS !!!

The pragmatist in me sees nothing to like about this team. Based on getting demolished by an FCS, I'd be shocked if we win this year.

Bobby Petrino beat UK with Taggart's players. But a three year plan does us no good. It's just not acceptable.

What I hope is that this "piss poor" loss exposes the losers!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
