Fletcher Av would probably have to be 6 laned to both Interstate interchanges before an OCS would be  allowed at USF,,,lots of other major improvements would be needed in vicinity of campus before permit to build OCS would be allowed.

The work on Fletcher is being done now and doesn't include additional lanes as far I am aware.

why would public pay for such a thing?

why is the government involved?

the rays should build their own stadium with their money

Awesome idea.  Let's move from our state of the art off campus pro staduim to a different off campus venue that will be no doubt crappier than what we have now!

It's a lose-lose for everyone involved!  Where do I sign up?

Yea seems far fetched but can't blame Crist for trying.  I'm sure the goal is to improve his district, which is a pretty tough one.

Pass.  While Sulphur Springs needs revitalization, putting a stadium there would be a downgrade from RayJay AND still be off campus.

Exactly ... I appreciate what he's trying to do for his constituents but please, Mr Crist, leave USF, and now the Rays, out of these hair brained schemes.

Of course you have to blame Christ for trying. He brought it up.

Or is the name of the game "say anything".

If that's the case, take a lesson from the TV Series "Boss". Bulldoze what needs to be cleared and put up a casino.

Rays spokesman Rick Vaughn said in an email the team would not comment on Crist's proposal. A USF spokeswoman said the Bulls, who play at Raymond James, aren't in the market for a new home.

And that, seems to be that!

If thats the end of the discussion, it means we've only got 3 more pages on this thread and 15 more separate threads about an OCS to go before the season starts.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
