Disagree.  I think people will know his name when he goes pro, and he goes no lower than 3rd round regardless of what he does this year.

Wonder if the issues with Aaron Hernandez will make people cautious of selecting players with checkered pasts.

 

And yes.. I know the issues are vastly different.

But still... I would think Dyer would need to prove that he's clean by more playtime/more spotlight on his recent accomplishments, to help people forget about his past issues.

Please give the NFL more credit than that. If I'm a gm/coach, I'm looking for production. Not has been with a name.

The NFL looks for talent and character. Production is merely a tool to measure them, but not the only tool necessary. The only thing the NFL teams need to do with players is figure out one way or another what this player can do for them.

 

Michael Dyer is talented.

There still hasn't been any official announcement of where he is going to be playing a month from now. Just seems a bit odd.

For what it's worth, listening to Jack Arute on satellite radio today, He mentioned about the registrars office having Dyers name and the process being started but also said that he was walking on so there would be nothing official until practice starts and Dyer is out there.

He'll have to be registered before he starts practicing. Insurance issues.
