It kind of reeks of the "warm body" approach to defense we took in the latter Taggart years: an after thought because we plan on getting into shootouts every game.

I'm not going to trash the guy before I do some research.  How long was he at Texas?  I assume you need some time to get your system up and running.  Anyone is better than what we had and we probably weren't getting a top DC from another program.

I love the hire. If he can keep the points allowed in the 20’s we will win most games. Remember the name of the game is to score more than the opponent. We don’t need someone to allow 15 points when we are scoring 40.
