  1. They made some ridiculous, contested shots yesterday and we weren’t hitting enough open ones. It was really that simple. VCU isn’t as good as we are but it was their night.
  2. 100% agree. I’m the same way. I want to see the big upset. I can’t stand the entitlement of some of these programs. Makes me sick to my stomach.
  3. Best combined football and basketball season I can ever remember. I still have 3 kids living at home and typically they were uninterested when I would tune in a game. That changed this year in both sports with all my kids excited to see USF on the TV. Two of my three even went with me to Florida to watch the bowl game against Syracuse. It was great. Sure, we didn't make the NCAA and that stinks. That aside, this was a great year and I always looked forward to the next game knowing the team would represent. A lot of fun.
  4. That looked like our early season losses. Horrendous shooting, lackadaisical ball movement around the perimeter, and bad free throw shooting. We played as bad as we could play and still nearly pulled it out. When we shoot that poorly we aren’t very good. Miguel was a non factor and no one, other than Pryor, could hit a 3. Horrible game where it looked like we were just going through the motions.
  5. In my opinion, if this team isn't in the NCAA it will be a travesty. I don't think I'm wearing Green and Gold glasses either. You can't win this many games in a row and win the AAC regular season by this much and not be in. I don't care what the "NET" says. The only reason our NET is bad is because of early season games and if the committee can't see this and find a way to get us in then the whole thing is just silly.
  6. Personally, I'm sick of the Big 10 and SEC and I live in Ohio. Ohio State fans are entitled and obnoxious, for the most part. I honestly wouldn't mind if they spun off into the "Power 2" and let them do their thing. The rest of college football can go back to some semblance of regional conferences and regional rivals. The football would be great. There are way too many good players to end up in the handful of schools that will realistically be playing in the Power 2 that will compete year in and year out for titles. Does anyone really think Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, and so on are going to be anything more than cannon fodder for the rest of the Power 2? Let them have their cake and leave the rest of us alone. Sick of it!! /Rant off.
  7. The NET is a really stupid mathematical formula. Unbelievable that this ranking is a big part of the determining factor of who gets in and who doesn't. If USF wins out, by some miracle, and we aren't in it will be the biggest travesty I've ever seen. Come on people spend a little more time and get this algorithm correct.
  8. Placer on queue with slow defense giving up an easy layup and a turnover. He adds zero if he isn’t shooting.
  9. I agree with this 100% and have been saying it for weeks. We are not as good with Placer in the game. He is a very streaky shooter and if he is ON then leave him in. If not, leave Reid in who is a better defender and excellent passer. We are generally better with Reid in.
  10. They are really long and a big mismatch for our undersized team. We need to stop with the baby dunk attempts. Go up and into the body of the blockers.
  11. I was sure we would lose yesterday. We fumbled the ball around at times and weren’t as crisp as we had been but somehow managed to win! I’m starting to Bullieve!!
  12. Any road game in conference is tough. They have played many teams competitively and with us being at the top of the conference no one is looking past us. I think for a few games people thought it was cute but now there is a bullseye on our backs. Expect a tough game.
  13. If we win those we will deserve it. ECU is going to be very tough. Let’s start there.
  14. I graduated USF in 1990 and saw the rise of MBB under Bobby Paschal. It was a fun time and at that time I wasn’t aware USF sports were cursed Since then there have been spurts of success but nothing sustained. I am having trouble believing what I am seeing. Every time I tune in to a MBB game I expect the wheels to fall off and we lose that game and then the remainder. That would put me safely back in the dungeon of what we call USF athletics. It isn’t just MBB either. I expect the same for football. However, something in the back of my mind is telling me we may have just turned the corner…if I could just let myself believe. I’m not getting any younger at almost 57. Maybe this is the beginning of the rise of the “sleeping giant”…those older like me know we have been hearing that phrase for decades. Maybe this is it. Believe, believe, believe!!!
  15. I’ve just noticed a big drop off in production and cohesion when he is on the bench. Hines isn’t a scorer, as was mentioned, so that threat is removed when he is inserted. Reid is also a very good defender and rebounder for his size. I just like the kid. I’d like to see him up to like 32 minutes a game. He can do it. Just some thoughts.
  16. I’d like to see Washington win but for all the talk of the accuracy of Penix he overthrew a touchdown pass inside the red zone and a deep ball that would have been a TD had he been accurate. He’s off.
  17. Starting lineup of the 5 best players: Youngblood, Miguel, Reid, Pryor and Knox I don’t like Hines in the starting lineup and would rather run 3 guards than leave Reid on the bench.
  18. He should be our PG as a starter. No reason why not. We are better with him on the floor. Bring Hines off the bench. Miquel as the 2-guard.
  19. This game was lost because we shot 40% from the line. Make 4 more and it’s tied. 5 more and we win. Very simple…lost at the line.
  20. Absolutely true. Liberty did not deserve to play in that game. Their SOS was awful.
