Why would he want to do that?  He is making money on TV and hanging out on his boat.

Same question could have been asked of Deion a few years ago . . .

Jimmy Johnson is 79 . . .

Nice! Think he may now be used to Florida. I would not mind seeing Holtz part 2 at USF. He did beat Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami

You lost me.

That is the one other than Leavitt that most people would be excited about.  If they could somehow get Leavitt involved in any capacity that would probably be a home run for getting the buzz back.

And then we replace Prime Time in 2024 with Warrick Dunne or Christian Ponder (my favorite)?

That depends. Can they recruit and coach the way that Sanders has proven to do extremely well -especially recruit - while carrying a high-profile name?

If so, then yes.

At this point we need to accept who we are. Yes, we will most likely never find another lifer like CJL was in 1996, but let the guy enjoy his well-earned sunshine and Bucs/Lightning games rather than thrust him into the awful situation that is USF football right now. Especially for a university that fired him, engaged in a lawsuit with him, and basically ruined his name. Don't think he'd be thrilled to take up the opportunity, so let's face reality.

But if Sanders leaves in 2024, it's because he was able to win immediately. That would be more than an ideal outcome based on where we are right now. It would be up to VPMK to keep the momentum going in coaching hires the way our former little brothers out east have been able to do repeatedly and successfully.

If they can do it, so can we.

Leavitt would get mostly USF people excited. I think Deion gets USF people excited and people people excited, with more of Tampa Bay paying attention, at least initially  …. and although it would be great if CJL came back in any capacity came back as something other than HC, don’t think he would or should. It’s go all in with him or not at all.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
