Taggart went too fast up the coaching levels. I wonder if he would still be a hot coaching candidate if he would of stayed at USF? He still was getting smoked against top 25 teams. He blew it against Temple.

When USF coaching hires come up why must you "fans" come on here to disparage Taggart.  He did exactly what we needed him to do here. Took a crappy ass team and turned them into winners by recruiting his ass off. And he did it in 3 years.

Nice! Think he may now be used to Florida. I would not mind seeing Holtz part 2 at USF. He did beat Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami

I will say it again. The most impressive coaching he did was when he took a step back after year two & realized his coaching approach was not working at USF. He was man enough to look in the mirror & realize he needed to change his strategy or get fired. Thankfully he hired Tom Allen for the defense and developed Q Flowers & Mack to become part of the Gulf Coast Offense. Sure he started winning but he never beat strong teams. He probably left USF too early because he didn’t really impress at Oregon or FSU. Now he is stuck at FAU.
