VPMK comments on coaching search

I would not be happy at all with Larry Scott. Just predicting this based on tweets saying hire is not considered “flashy”

I would hope we wouldn't do that to our program presently. Larry Scott is an excellent character guy - however we need W's and we need W's quickly. Larry is not tearing it up at Howard per se. The record speaks for itself unfortunately. I want to see Larry succeed, however he needs to succeed at a lower level first and then work his way up. Why we ever gave Jeff Scott the nod in the first place is still quite confusing as he wasn't even the OC by himself.

I'm scratching my head over why Simmons was ruled out

First probably any coach hired is an upgrade so that's a plus. 

Larry Scott might have some good Florida connections and be a good coach but he is still an incomplete and working on Howard  right now his resume doesn't scream read ready to move to g5.

He was arrested for choking his ex-girlfriend in the past.

The coach before Chadwell who put Coastal Carolina on the map was hired away by ECU. He now has ECU bowling. That would have been a good hire for USF instead of Scott.
