We are “talent on the defense” away from being a respectable team.

from the looks of it, Gerry was pretty intent on that pass. he couldve made that one yard up the middle just seeing the blocks. but hindsight is 20/20. I dont like the playcall there, at all.

As soon as he turns to throw, the defense follows. I wish I hadn't watched this now 😢

well at least next week you wont have to worry about any plays like this where the game is on the line!

we'll just be losing by 3 touchdowns by the end of the 1st quarter, makes it less stressful the rest of the way....

Maybe we could hand it off to Leonard Fournette for that 1 easy yard. Oops. Wish you guys would stop with the "it was a done deal to just get a yard up the middle" stuff.

No one said it was a done deal. The best chance at this team getting that yard is a run up the middle. It certainly is not Bohanon throwing the ball. That’s not a wild concept.

If he pump faked there and followed the lead block to the right he had an open hole that looked good for 10 yards...that was hard to watch

I had this game chalked-up as a loss - I was pleasantly surprised by the game plan and was relatively content with the game until that 4th and 1 play

The correct call was a Bohanon run - either up the middle or off-tackle.  If they had run that play and been stopped, I would have been happy (we were after-all 4 touchdown underdogs)

The fact that the coaching staff ran a swing pass, behind the line of scrimmage, to the smallest player on the field shows either:

A) They had no faith in Bohanon to get the first down

B) They did not know what the correct play call should have been

C) They over-thought the play instead of keeping things simple

Either way, that play is a trend and the trend says that CJS and his staff are never going to get it right at USF

A few weeks ago, I had stated that I would not advocate for firing Coach Scott until the season ended and had a full body of work to look at - the ECU game and the 4th & 1 call today have changed my mind.

Scott needs to go - the sooner that happens, the sooner we can start righting the ship and begin the next chapter of USF Football

who will right the check for 10 million?

So why pass in 4th and 1 instead of qb run?

Had the option?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
