  1. man this ACC would be pretty weak, but at least USF is apart of the idea. It's rare to see USF included in many of these super conference ideas.
  2. bold of you to assume I was talking about them. here, let me put it in larger text so you dont miss the two I am looking forward to: Donovan Jennings & Daquan Evans
  3. I expect Brown-Stephens to take a step up in the WR room. It’s really anyone’s to take, and Atkins is the usual suspect to get the spotlight, but now’s a great time to establish a clear role after a decent season
  4. the funny part is that winning a game of FBS football was the turning point, because that's how screwed this program was
  5. Bethune-Cookman W Alabama L Sept 14 at Southern Miss W Sept 21 Miami L Sept 28 at Tulane W Oct 5 BYE Oct 11 Memphis L Oct 19 UAB L Oct 26 OPEN DATE Nov 1 at Florida Atlantic W Nov 9 Navy W Nov 16 at Charlotte W Nov 23 Tulsa W Nov 30 at Rice W I don't think this team is ready for the big games yet. Unless we see stunning improvements on defense, this is an 8-4 ceiling EDIT: 9-win ceiling but likely 8-4, with a few matchups that I would reevaluate in pre-season fall practice because it's way early: FAU - I see us pulling a tricky win here. UAB - I need to read more about UAB - that was a very weird game last year USF looked uninspired. Memphis - as always, they're going to be really good, but this feels like a chaotic game in the making. Miami - I give us a 20% chance, but it's just too early to understand how bad Miami is this year vs. how our offense manages to stay together against a tougher opponent like Bama. If we faceplant against Bama, Miami is going to destroy this team.
  6. these two will represent USF football well in the pros. let's keep this streak going in years to come with CAG and his #1 recruiting classes
  7. bold of you to assume we wont be playing Thursday night football in Corvalis, Oregon with conference foe Oregon State!!!
  8. who cares. for most of our history, USF has been in a better conference. it's been one year, and the system is about to collapse. There is no more P5. There is P2. we're in the same boat now. just win games.
  9. I imagine the appeal of USF given the recent sell-outs, infrastructure expansion is pretty high. He'd be an all-star here and make an immediate difference on the court, be apart of another great season (and possibly another conference championship)
  10. Costly loss. The idea of the AAC being a two bid league was already walking on eggshells. Now, it’s tourney or bust
  11. let's say Memphis, USF, Tulane, SDSU, OSU, WSU join the ACC, there's not much they could do much to get that figure back up, but it'd be interesting to see how much they'd squeeze out of a deal
  12. oh I don't know, maybe the thing i'm seeing is 1-24 against FBS teams since 2020 it is in fact not being negative, when it is objectively true that we are awful but sure let's hold hands and skip and listen to fun songs about playing close games!
  13. anytime someone even merely jokes about hiring herm edwards I physically cringe
  14. We should have fired CJS in 2021. but that's why I'm not athletics director because financially the buyout is too much, and we're USF, not Bama, so firing a coach early is a pretty big deal. there is no case for keeping this coach for another season, he's basically a "lame duck" coach to me. waiting for the buyout situation to get resolved.
  15. any running back that can break a tackle or two and make more than 5 yards per carry would be a welcome addition to the speed of battie and size of mangham bonus points if said running back makes more than 2 yards on a first down
  16. USF is now 1-24 (or 23, I lost count lmfao) against FBS opponents since 2020. I cannot imagine another major program that would endure this level of consistent failure without making a coaching change. But we.... we gave an EXTENSION to this coach even when he was essentially winless and unproven under the guise of stability. we also gave an extension to a MBB coach who led our team to the worst 3 point shot % in the nation - dead last #350 something What bugs me is that USF is doing something no program (that takes itself seriously) would be doing. After Marcus Freeman struggled in the first few games as ND coach, people were calling for him to be fired. At ND, winning is the expectation, and you wont last more than one season with the Irish if you cant win multiple games. At Nebraska, Frost was pulling out some wins which kept him afloat, but the program wasted no time this season to cut him off because enough was enough. ASU fired Herm Edwards after an embarrassing loss, even though just last season they were in the top 25 (but, had recruiting scandal issues) - they know their worth, and they said "enough is enough". They all have some sort of standards. Even a 6 win season isnt good enough. Here at USF, 1 FBS win over 3 seasons is clearly enough, as long as extracurricular variables such as "culture" are in place. Again, it bugs me that USF basically has no standards in keeping a 1-24* against FBS coach. we're okay with losing if that means we have stability. I could go on and on - it doesnt solve anything. But this continued investment in a coach that clearly has no idea what he is doing is unacceptable. USF is in a very, very bad place until CJS leaves - or we suddenly win more than 6 games. NOTE: i'm ok with the concept of a rebuild season. I can accept a season that is sort of rough but with good wins like MOST teams do. however for 3 seasons we have not been able to win. there is no rebuild, there is only regression, and nothing anyone argues on the contrary can be correct, because I will just send you to this link: https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/south-florida/index.html
  17. im also a long time fan. I just cant stand it anymore and I hate seeing very long time fans and even new fans just lose patience. it takes a really long time to recover the lost interest from the fanbase unless you go undefeated somehow lmao.
  18. it's been enough for me since mid season 2021 where we are right now is unacceptable and CJS needs to go
  19. but hey at least Gonzaga, jackson state and uconn are there .......
  20. and they have a big office in tampa, too USF isnt even an option under the "college teams" dropdown huge fail
  21. im sure theyre figuring out how to run the offense better now probably wont be enough to win much of anything this season but maybe next year we'll win like 2 games or something special
  22. it's all just smoke and mirrors, nothing has improved im sure someone on the team, at some point, will figure out how to win. maybe it's this season. maybe next. who knows, i'll just be watching unamused but enjoying the smell of tailgate bbq
