Glad it's getting talked about but did MK say either 2026 or 2027 against Miami?

Oh man, hopefully there is still human civilization on Earth by 2027.

It only took UAB three years between announcement and the opening of Protective Stadium. Come on USF giddy up.

Vinik Stadium at Jim Leavitt Field

I'm partial to La Segunda Stadium at Cigar City Brewing Field, but what do I know? I'm just a Tampeño.

We will know more this summer . . . guess the funding will be decided, location confirmed and builder/design?

Then we can find the pull the trigger?

The Athletics Center is the Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center, which will not be attached to the stadium. Maybe that poster meant the Football Operations building, which is planned to be part of the stadium project, which would make sense if Sycamore Fields is a potential site.

Not sure about the total cost since the sub committee is going to see what USF is going to want to have within the stadium and how much that costs.

I also know that this has not been laid out to "All" Iron Bulls. Not even sure where that came from.

Maybe this is the dude who thought he was "right" about everything involving the IPF.

Three years from mid 2022 announcement would track with 2026.

Figuring that 2022 announcement would include location, cost, official drawings, etc.

You would get permits/approvals/funding in the next 6-12 months, bringing you to mid to late 2023 for groundbreaking/start.

1-2 years to complete build gets you to 2025 in season at earliest/extreme best case, 2026 best case/more likely, 2027 as a most reasonable date.

If this admin really pulls off a $300m+ facility, it would erase the past 12 years of mismanagement- strong, holtz, woolard, genshaft, all of it would be forgotten.  Im cautiously optimistic, but if this happens it would be a massive accomplishment. We are talking about something that would transform the campus and university. Total game changer.

On the flip side, if this goes nowhere they may as well pack it in- no turning back from this commitment.

In addition I noticed he said at BoT meeting 250 to 400m. No effing way we are seriously considering 400m stadium. When the price tag lands at 250-275 he can say see guys I got it on the lower end. Maybe.

Colorado States stadium, adjusting for inflation, would be 262 today.

Borrow 75, raise 25 privately, get a 50m sponsor, and do a fees assessment at a few bucks per credit hour (× 30k students, 30hrs/yr, 3 yrs) that's another 10... you're at a really reasonable number. And then you start getting a Rev share bump if we are reasonably confident in a conference upgrade... the stadium is a complete no brainer.
