You make FAU relevant by losing to them. Beat them and it won’t matter.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland told The Daily Memphian that the “lion’s share” of renovation funding will come from the university

“Now we will partner in getting that funding and getting that work done,” he said. “We do not know how we are going to fund $150 million to $200 million. But that’s not the announcement today.”

I did see that but that’s only half the equation. Last thing I could find was from several years ago and it said they  get zero money from any concessions sales. Have to assume that’s got to change?

Speaking of Memphis

Working toilets would be a transformational upgrade of that place.

Missed this from several days ago and wondering if it will have any effect on future conference realignment ....

The ruling by the NCAA effectively does away with the need for teams to be the best in their division to play in a conference championship game.

Opposite way of how things should go. On the field results dont matter. Its a popularity contest.

Is that the case, though? Just looking at us, if they had this in 2016, we'd have been playing Temple for the conference championship based strictly on on the field results and not divisions.

It depends on what conferences do.  Pac 12 wants to use the ones with the two best conferences winning percentages, if one division has more parity (or lesser teams), it makes sense.  Why should a 5-3 team play for the championship from one division if the other division has teams that went 8-0 and 7-1 ? Isn't that "on the field" as you say?

Who says the teams that 8-0 and 7-1 weren't in a top heavy division that beat up on crap teams and the other division had very tough teams? That 7-1 team might be garbage compared to the 5-3 team.

It is a pipe dream, but I like how Bball does it. Win your conference you are in and then throw some of the other top teams in that didn't win the conference. Every Div 1 conference should have a representative in the playoff.
