Could be these teams coming into AAC look at it as a move up and not lateral. They will make more $$ so they may put more into their programs to elevate them after watching the success of the 3 that are leaving for P5. More visibility. If WT stays at FAU he may get giddy seeing this as his chance to elevate their brand and push them to be the "next FL team to get the nod" not USF???  As we languish along in mediocrity some of these folks may see this as their Big Chance to Shine--time will tell

Well technically that point is true for any of the new teams. But as we have seen this is more than wins and loses. All of the teams who are new are years behind most of the teams who are already here (and don’t forget they are getting 1/3 to 2/3 less in tv money). If we can’t get the nod in the next opportunity the hard reality is that we don’t deserve it then.

Nothing to do with deserving. See Rutgers going to  Big Ten.

You could make the case of all the schools involved in conference realignment, Rutgers had the best outcome of anybody.

Ahh…ok, well my buildup was leading to not deserving then I blew it 😂. However, I do believe things are different since Rutgers got in. And, we will be better off and getting into a better conference if we win. Is it exclusive? Probably not, but I do think our odds get a little better with more wins.

Could it be that the AAC signed 6 new schools to replace 3 defectors in anticipation of 3 leaving ...:stirpot:

I thought about that too...
