Worst-case scenario for us. The way the two teams are playing, we’ll need a miracle, and a UCF win basically erases our regular-season title.

And a win over them to get Jose his first CC Tournament championship is the Best Case scenario.

Yes, we have not played our best ball in this tournament so far, and they look good tonight.  But that has no bearing on what is going to happen tomorrow night.  We are both here for a reason.  The Best 2 teams in the league.  We split with them in the Regular season and have almost identical records.

Its going to be a great game imo.

We have been playing awful on past few games and have barely survived first two tournament games. If the shooting slump doesn’t end we will not win tonight and be one and out in tourney.

They have played poorly for large stretches in these first 2 games, BUT to the girl's credit, they played clutch in the 4th quarter in both games during crunch time.  That says something about their resiliency.

But I agree, that trend has to end tonight, and they have to play a full 40 minutes of good ball to win.

If we lose tonight, they probably should. It would be hard to claim we're the best team in the AAC if we lose 2 of 3 to them and won the regular season based on a forfeit by Memphis. But let's erase any doubt and win. Gonna have to score more than 17 points in the first half or 48 or 51 for the game to do that. In the two wins, they're shooting 26 PERCENT from the floor. That's so out of character for USF teams. Got to snap out of that!

American Athletic Conference Semifinals

Fort Worth, Texas | Dickies Arena

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) (March 10, 2021) — Elisa Pinzan made six free throws in the final 23 seconds and 20th-ranked South Florida went 8 for 8 from the line in the last minute to hold off fourth-seeded Tulane in the semifinals of the American Athletic Association tournament on Wednesday at Dickies Arena.

Maria Alvarez had three of her four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, the last with 1:50 to play that put the Bulls on top 43-41.

Tulane made 1 of 2 free throws with 1:27 to go, the foul sidelining USF’s Bethy Mununga, who had eight points and 18 rebounds.

But Sydni Harvey was fouled and her two free throws at 53.4 pushed the USF lead to three. Following a Green Wave miss, Pinzan took over to keep the lead at two possessions.

Pinzan, Alvarez, and Harvey all had 12 points for South Florida (17-3), which faces the winner of Houston-UCF in the championship game on Thursday. The Bulls’ record matches the 2016-17 team for the best 20-game mark in school history.

The Green and Gold advance to their fifth American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game in their eight years in the league.

JerKaila Jordan scored 22 points, her ninth 20-plus game, to lead the Green Wave (17-8), which has lost 18 straight to the Bulls. Krystal Freeman added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

USF shot 21.9% (7 of 32) with 12 turnovers to trailed 23-17 at the half and was down 10 points until a Harvey 3 and a Mununga jumper cut the deficit to 33-28 after three quarters.

USF athletics communications contributed to this story.

There is no doubt that we're the regular season champs and that's all that matters. Winning the reg season but not the conf tourney happens all the time. We don't know what would have happened if we didn't have the Memphis forfeit and had to beat the Kanigits twice. 3 out of our last 4 games have been must wins and they've found a way to win each one. People that say if we play the way we played those games we lose ..... To me it's just the opposite. We found a way to win each one of those games and if we play that same way tonight, we win.

There seems to be just enough there to pull out a W even while playing cold and ragged. They needed almost identical play in the final quarter/minutes to manage a win. They play cold in this title game they can prob kiss the AAC championship good bye. Maybe they will shake it off tonight?? and play lights out..? It would be great to see them win a championship for Team-Coach(s)-USF

It will be great, USF shooting  vs. UCF Defense. Its a rivalry game, I totally brush off the USF cold streak, that won't matter tonight. I do think the fouls by both teams BIGS  will drive the result.
