If we become a G5 “League” in that capacity I will be done with USF football and I suspect others will follow. It will too easy for me just to watch FCS football up here in New Hampshire and get the same amount of satisfaction (or dissatisfaction if we are talking USF football).

Serious question, why wait? All that league would change is give us a national championship trophy we'd actually have a shot at .................................... hopefully.

Just more fuel for the BE invite being the worst thing that has happened to USF football ...

I'm a Tampa fan. Went to all of the home games for UT back in the day. Will follow and support the BULLS until I can't. I simply enjoy the college game.

Today's saturated media has made those fun times of Spartan football truly a thing of the past. Those games were great ....

Yea I dont want the G5 trying to branch off from the P5 and do our own playoffs. It further weakens the perception of the G5 if we separate from the p5.

We aren't at same table as P5 but we still are atleast in same room just at the kids table.

This wasnt a great season for it but some years some P5 teams will get screwed out of the playoffs and that might push talks for expansion.

Only problem is that it would not be a national championship trophy. After 10 years that game would barely be recognized by the media. We would be even more of an afterthought than we are now and that’s pretty friggin bad. I agree with you regarding the BE invite...it killed this program and caused many to live in the past and use that time as the benchmark...a benchmark that cannot be achieved.

UT would get 2,000 fans today. USF in a G5 only league would draw 10,000 if not worse. The program would become more of an afterthought than it is now.

That's what the AFL said.

Does anybody honestly see USF going all in on athletics to make USF more attractive to the P5?

Which could happen naturally (huge uproars this year) or it could happen legally. I would rather these be exhausted first before we retreat to that level permanently.

I disagree. But, just like you I have nothing to base that on.

I don’t see it happening...it’s more than a long shot. But this not about USF. What I am arguing for is that the playoffs go to 8 teams with one spot going to the best G5 school. That is doable and not unreasonable.

129 out of 130 already draw more than that.
