Does anybody honestly see USF going all in on athletics to make USF more attractive to the P5?

If there is another expansion surge, adding teams from the G5, we won't really know what will make a program attractive ..... just like it wasn't real clear the last go rounds.

129 out of 130 already draw more than that.

How many people show up? As a part of the CFN Five-Year Program Analysis, the attendance is a factor. Here are the rankings from No. 1-130. Contact @PeteFiutak...

How many of these have pro sports in town? How many of these had something better then it was taken away? All of that impacts. Sure some will buy tickets but as we have seen with USF how many will actually attend? It will be worse when we would not be considered not much higher than the FCS level.

We're in a G5 league now. Doesn't make any difference. It's a 5 year average. Pro sports or not, that's the number that the schools are drawing. The chance of being "promoted" are still the same. But, just maybe, by creating a second round of playoffs, like the NIT does in basketball, it would draw more attention/media coverage than playing in most any of the bowl games now.

True but what you are advocating (as I said previously) will create an even greater negative perception with the community. Further, it leads down the road of the P5 only playing P5 which will create an even greater financial burden. Compare the NIT to the NCAA Tournament. No one cares about the NIT...it is an afterthought. Further, teams who play in the NIT loose money on the tournament itself. No cares about the D2 or FCS championship either. Sure a few fans attend but it is on page three of the sports page nationally.

I've never been for this system. In fact, have still not watched a playoff game.  I just watch the bowl games.

This, only I've quit watching college football completely if the schools I attended are not involved. Even then I do not watch all of those games live, catching most on condensed games and highlight videos.

My preference would be to eliminate all of the bowl games and have a true playoff like FCS division. All conference champions get a bid and at least 6 at-large bids. I might start watching again given that scenario.
