The point is, Frost inherited a dumpster fire and they were able put together a desirable product on the field... Make sure you rinse.

They weren't a dumpster fire they had seasons of 10-4, 12-1 and 9-4 before the 0-12 season....they had a much better foundation to build from.

The worst part is that THIS, wasn’t that long ago:

Feels like a lifetime ago though.

Crazy what one **** head coach will do to a program.

Listerine Fresh Burst ....... My point is you don't go from a winning program to a losing program in just one year, no matter how bad that year was. Their previous coach stepped down, wasn't fired for several years of incompetence. The programs were starting at different places.

Where I come from 0-12 is pretty much the quicksand of foundation.

We beat Cincy in every stat except the final score and a handful of rushing yards.

Score is the only stay that matters.

You do realize that your argument is totally off. To compare last year to this year is Apple to oranges in terms of strategy. Strong was trying to win with trash and make decisions predicated on winning right then. CJS has the intelligence to know that there is no way he can win now with what he has. The program has to be torn down first. We have the #3 recruiting class coming in with two excellent QBs. We have an offense only operating on 60% of the playbook. He is treating this like one long spring practice. Further, I am quiet sure he does not care if you like it or not because when we start winning you will jump on board like the other gutless wonders complaining now.

Lots of coaches come in and improve things right off the bat, improving for the future and demonstrating improvement do not have to be at odds with one another and the only time people pretend that they are is when there coach is failing.

And having lost very little in terms of yds is managing to do worse, that’s not called improvement any more than kbs doing worse was an improvement. Better coaches get better results with the same players . Period. Full stop.

Football is about jimmy and joes and then putting them into position to be successful. Let’s be honest. USF hasn’t had a legit nfl player in 3 years. D2 schools have had more guys get drafted. Also year before Coach Bell, Blake Barnett played in every game. Last year he got hurt (The SMU game which he threw for like 250 in one half) and was stuck with a banged up redshirt freshman that wasn’t ready to play all year. Still found ways to beat BYU who Tennessee couldn’t beat at home and played with Cincinnati. But When talent was close Coach Bell offense like vs Ecu scored over 40 points.. or how we outplayed Cincinnati defense last year. Coach Bell wasn’t the head coach and wasn’t in charge of recruiting for 3 years prior.

But when the talent level is so low the intelligent coach knows time is better served to evaluate than to win. He is in year 1 of a 5 year deal. He has the time to go this route for a better king term.

But the strategy from this year to last year is different. This year Scott does not care about winning. It’s about evaluation.

Evaluation? You should go into every game putting your guys into position to be successful and win. No one plays for evaluation, sounds like a excuse.

Cincy is overrated, if they have as many turnovers against UCF then they are done for

Cincy is better than us ... period

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
