He then went back to Clemson and focused on that job for his last two games.  Big deal. Him doing that is not going to hurt this program in any way down the road. 

It certainly doesn’t help this program in any way down the road and that’s all I care about.

I disagree.  The recruits sure won’t mind the rings that he shows them.

How big of a difference do you honestly think losing to LSU is going to have on future recruits beyond what his previous Clemson service has done?

I feel bad for some of you stuck in the Jim Leavitt days. It’s never going to happen. He got USF on the map and literally built the program but they’re not bringing back a coach who was fired for hitting a kid. Not saying it actually happened, but not saying it didn’t. I’m very thankful for what he did, by my goodness, move on.

Again, the only thing that matters is the final record at the end of the year. If the team looks the same or worse than last year then your assertion can be explored. These guys are G5 coaches. I suspect Lane has more to choose from. That by no means makes these assistants bad. We are not going to get many P5 assistants...that’s just the way things are.

It’s pretty F’n sad. Plus CFB has significantly changed in the past 5 years.
