Does anyone really think that Jim would come back to USF as a coordinator?

I don't know man, it's kind of like getting kicked out of your own house that you built with your blood sweat and tears and coming back 10 years later to find another family living in it.

Yeah this is the logic I'm feeling as well.  I think for these exact reasons, CJL as anything but an HC is a total pipe dream.

Only way I want Taggart back is if brings QF, MM and RA with him.  They should make him fork over a couple of mill to the IPF as part of the contract.  He’s got a extra few laying around.

Agreed, He would be a terrible rehire, he would never be able to rekindle the energy and excitement, therefore never landing a magical class that hid all of his coaching and player development deficiencies. I am forever thankful for him bringing us out of the doldrums but he would not be able to pull a second rabbit out of the same hat.  As stated many times you can’t go home again.

Yeah, the same Taggart who was the only coach to offer Q as a QB and I'm pretty sure it was Taggart's offense who allowed Mack to thrive and get him noticed by the NFL.

Just stop.

The same Taggart who tried for 2 and a half years to put a square peg through a round hole. You just stop.

I prefer the original Darth Visor for the following reasons:

  • National Champion (UF-1996)
  • History of taking on projects - Tampa Bay Bandits (USFL) and Orlando (AAF) Apollos
  • History of turning around terrible lesser known programs (Duke)
  • Can recruit Florida and is a has ties to the Tampa Bay area (was Buccaneers orginal QB in 1976)
  • Literally will still coach anyone (reportedly had a salary of $500k coaching in the AAF earlier this year)
  • Name recognition, great with the press and could greatly impact fundraising

The downfalls are:

  • Projected tenure - he's 74 and wouldn't be around long
  • Has indicated that he doesn;t want to do the 11 month grind

I don’t want him as a HC but he would be great in an advisory role or consultant or something. Think of the synergy

10-2 and 11-2 in last two years.  Feel free to see yourself out.

If you're too blind, as FSU was, to see the Taggart template, I can't help you and it's not worth more of my time to explain.

And I was talking about his last two years here at USF ... Smh.

No to Taggart. I just saw an unmotivated multi millionaire Coach come in here and further milk this program. Why would I do it twice?

Someone hungry like Taggart from WKU....Fine.

A retread Taggart downgrading from his dream job to be his fall back plan? No thanks.

Bell offense scored more with less qb and less players than Harrell did vs BYU.

How dead does the horse have to be?

But since we are here. Graham's third string QB looked more game ready the play he stepped in under fire than any of Bell's at any point.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
