You could plug just about any coach's name into that sentence and say the same.  You're not winning unless you get some players and then it's what you do with them

exactly

I really don't get the logic when people try to use this point.  You're penalizing the coach for recruiting well and then utilizing the players he recruited?

Everyone forgets that good old Tags was on the hot-seat to be fired until he struck gold with Q and that 1,000 yard + RB from the NFL, I forget what's his name. Sorry, no to Taggart.

Yeah, the same Taggart who was the only coach to offer Q as a QB and I'm pretty sure it was Taggart's offense who allowed Mack to thrive and get him noticed by the NFL.

Just stop.

we should pay Taggart $1 a year for 3 years. His penance. I believe FSU picks up the difference between new salary and what they owe him.

I’m hesitant with either one of those Kiffin or Taggart more so with Taggart however. Taggart is a good guy however what he did to Oregon for personal ambition is something that Mike Kelly will think about. I’m not knocking a person with ambition but when it’s at the expense of others that’s something dealing with character.

I know the argument he left for his dream job but the bottom line was he took the Oregon job And made a commitment to them and even convinced several quality recruits to travel to the north west with him. God bless him he made a lot of money however you have to wonder if he’s changed. I think what happened to him at FSU was Karma

also I’m not so sure that he’s proven to be a great head coach.

If you think other names will be more loyal than Taggart you are wrong.

Kevin Sumlin, Houston to Texas A&M, fired, now at Arizona.

-

Tom Herman, Houston to Texas, in the hot seat.

-

Charlie Strong, Louisville to Texas, fired, then fired at USF.

-

Scott Frost, UCF to Nebraska, 2 years no bowl game losing record.

-

Brian Kelly, Cincy to Notre Dame, doing well has team top 15.

-

Willie Taggart, USF to Oregon to FSU, fired but looking.

-

Geoff Collins, Temple to Georgia Tech

-

Matt Rhule, Temple to Baylor

I’m all in on Lane for reasons that should be obvious to everyone, as well.

I’m with you, he was my top choice before strong and nothing has changed. We need offense and he brings it. I also like Graham Harrell but he isn’t getting a lot of traction, he did a great job with USC’s QB room though.

you know Kiffin left Tenn after 1 year right?

Absolutely but he also paid for it. He’s been at his new job for several years now and has someone rehabilitated his image. I didn’t say I Thought he should the next coach.

Only way I want Taggart back is if brings QF, MM and RA with him.  They should make him fork over a couple of mill to the IPF as part of the contract.  He’s got a extra few laying around.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
