We have had one football coach that tried to bring beauty into our ugly world and we killed him for it. I do think that Taggart showed to be a very good recruiter. I’ll give him an edge over Holtz and Strong in that regard. I think his in game coaching sucks. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, but if Taggart understood his strength as a recruiter and hired great coordinators to call the games....and if he’d stayed here...he’d have clearly been the best of the three post Leavitt coaches.

He's not a great football coach. He's a great hype machine and can use that to recruit. He'd be a great assistant for someone one day. In other words he is a bullshitter

He's timing has been great - overall, he's a sub .500 coach. That's not hall of fame material. That's almost unemployment line material for most coaches. He's "turned around" disasters and he's full of charisma and is cashing in. It's been a wonderful life so far. No regrets. If he gets ****-canned at FSU, he still comes out ahead. 1

I certainly had hope of that and I felt it was trending that way but as it stands now they are all tied and one good season each in their entire USF careers and CWT had the most opportunities. Lots of coaches have flash in the pan seasons sustaining something is the hard part and I’ll hold on the line while I wait for anyone to point to any sustained success from CWT. so you don't think he rebuilt our program? our 2 best seasons record wise were because of Willie Taggart. Strong stepped into the best situation in the country and completely destroyed us. we lost 41-15 last year at home against Tulane.

He's always come in with little downside. Oregon or FSU, either would have been fun to watch.

Lost twice with a 99% chance to win. Managed to have the only losses following 18 point second half point leads twice even though no other coach managed that in the history of the program. Has FSU seriously considering a $17 million buyout. The accomplishments never end.

Willie is a salesman....he needs great operations managers (coaches and coordinators). He could have been great here for a long time had he stayed. We were on the verge and he left. Can’t blame him for the great opportunities he’s gotten, although I wish he’d stayed here.
