You may be onto something

Great idea.  Let's buyout a head coach and a VPofA.  Brilliant.

You either figure things out or someone will be brought in we can.

Go ahead. Start your list of people you can bring him not named Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Oprah to be our AD that can magically make money appear.  AND, what happens if CCS gets fired tomorrow?  Will you then think Kelly is brilliant?  Nah, let's wait until he hires someone, give that coach a year, go 2 - 10 like we would with Strong, and then you'll want Kelly fired then.

I get your angle, but I’m not sure about the conclusion. If he hires someone and they show improvement, which is something we haven’t seen in a while, we’ll be ok. Also, Harlan got a mulligan and Kelly will likely get one too.

...and to make it even more funny we got people wanting ex-players and ex-coaches to take over...pretty sure Kelly is more forward thinking than that...

Robots, animals that have scientifically enhanced intelligence, or we could hire Canadian coaches

So his sole performance in his duties are predicated on firing Charlie this year and not next year?  Glad I don't work for you.  RB "Hey, CousinRicky, I want you to fire the guy in Shipping."  CR "But he has a contract and it will cost two years salary to fire him and the budget you allow for shipping this year won't cover it".  RB "Fire him anyway and figure it out". CR "Gotcha boss".

True. But many have said it could not get worse. They have been saying that KU for 10 years now. I would rather be very careful before hiring “anyone” if we actually get that chance. This next hire will be the most important in program history.

I appreciate the extrapolation, but no. While that is not his sole purpose getting his revenue sports on track should be a priority. If you see a department hemorrhaging money do you just sit back and let it correct itself?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
