In that scenario, an 8-4 Temple team is going to the AACCG over an 11-1 USF squad. Why in the world would you want that as a conference with the current NY6 setup?

The NY6 doesn't require a conf champ does it?  I thought it was just highest ranked.  USF might still get the bid over Temple in that scenario.

How exactly would an 11 team conference work? if we go with everyone plays everyone we are looking at 10 conference games which means we could only have 2 OOC games. If we play 8 conference games then how would ties be settled if neither team played each other?  How about 3 way ties where none of the 3 played each other?

Granted it was before conference championships were all the rage but I'm pretty sure the Big10 managed to make an 11 team conference work for roughly 20 years, I am sure with a little effort the AAC can figure it out if it means more money for the member teams and if the only thing standing in the way is the conference championship game we can just say we had it every year and no one will know any differently.

App state has still been getting good recruits and WINNING since they have become D1. Hell when they were D2 they won 3 national titles. If you want the AAC to have respect you gotta win games and that's what they have been doing. They are like 21-3 in the Sunbelt conference since joining and pretty much have dominated their conference including winning their conference last year. USF wasn't much or had much accomplishments b4 joining the Big East. App state has waaay more accomplishments than we had when we was trying to join the Big East, so not sure why you feel they aren't worthy. I feel they will have even more success as part of the AAC.

If we take ANY team from the Sun Belt or C-USA it would be a travesty.

We are going to lose credibility with each edition we make to the conference but make it up in volume, so far it’s working swimmingly.

We are taking the best team out of Sunbelt...hell I think App State would be the best team in CUSA as well. If they join the AAC, they probably would be in the middle of the pack. They are definitely waaaaay better than Uconn. Their trajectory has been up since they upset 5th ranked Michigan back in the day.

Currently it’s the highest CFP ranked conference champion ...

That is incorrect. The automatic spot in the NY6 to the G5 conferences goes to the highest ranked conference champion out of the G5. What Aresco proposed (top 2 teams, no divisions) would would make the most sense for the AAC given the current landscape.
