Like I said, let's just add App state. they have been doing pretty well every year since they became D1. either them or Army.

My bet now is that the AAC will not respond at all in adding a new team. Each conference member just picked up a few more dollars without doing nothing:

Heck yeah, take their money and kick their football to the curb of obscurity it deserves!

This is a great point.  Even though our TV deal is bigger, don't think the top of the MWC isn't talking about how to make them stronger and raid the AAC.  They could agree in force not to leave the conference for the AAC, even though that's probably illegal.

Illegal like colluding against your conference and nixing a good tv contract before you leave?

Like I said, App State is still viewed as small potatoes U in the middle of nowhere, they would bring the status of the conference down if that is even possible.  Army/Navy game is the biggest problem and they are too focused on academics/discipline and protecting the country to consistently provide a good football team, they will stink again soon.  Do nothing and make more money makes the most sense and it is the American way.

App state has still been getting good recruits and WINNING since they have become D1. Hell when they were D2 they won 3 national titles. If you want the AAC to have respect you gotta win games and that's what they have been doing. They are like 21-3 in the Sunbelt conference since joining and pretty much have dominated their conference including winning their conference last year. USF wasn't much or had much accomplishments b4 joining the Big East. App state has waaay more accomplishments than we had when we was trying to join the Big East, so not sure why you feel they aren't worthy. I feel they will have even more success as part of the AAC.

USF needs to make decisions that positively effect USF and not worry about the potential good they can bring to some other program. The last time we gave someone a hand up we got ****** over hard with no lube. If there is a team out there that could bring up the AAC instead of the AAC bringing them up then of course we should invite them but unfortunately any team that would actually benefit the conference would want absolutely nothing to do with it. If inviting another team into the conference would be a catalyst for their success then that's a reason not to invite them as we do not need to further diminish the scarce resources we have already distanced ourselves from by making this piece of **** conference and inviting UCF to join it in the first place.

How exactly would an 11 team conference work? if we go with everyone plays everyone we are looking at 10 conference games which means we could only have 2 OOC games. If we play 8 conference games then how would ties be settled if neither team played each other?  How about 3 way ties where none of the 3 played each other?

The two teams playing in the AACCG would be the two highest teams in the CFP rankings. Alternatively, when two teams aren't ranked, they will default to some computer composite. The entire idea being getting the extra money that would come in the NY6 Bowl every year. This would give the AAC the best opportunity for that to happen. So long as the AAC is on the outside looking in, having a team in the NY6 has to be the end goal. This gives us the best opportunity.

For instance, under the current setup, let's say that USF went 4-0 OOC next year, beating Wisconsin, BYU and Georgia Tech. We then go 7-1 in conference play with our only loss coming to Temple. Temple goes 1-3 OOC, only beating Bucknell, but turns it on in conference play, only losing one game in conference. In that scenario, an 8-4 Temple team is going to the AACCG over an 11-1 USF squad. Why in the world would you want that as a conference with the current NY6 setup? Eliminate the H2H tiebreaker and resolve ties based upon CFP ranking. This encourages ambitious OOC scheduling and gives the AAC the best chance at the $$$ from the NY6.

I'm beginning to think that VPoA Kelly knew that UCONN was going to leave a year ago and started scheduling accordingly.
