Why is OC hiring taking so long?

Strong is just delaying as far as possible so he can promote Burke. It's been the plan ever since Gilbert left.

I think BJM is a capable DC with the right personnel. The Defense looked pretty good in 2017, albeit against **** opposition, but I as well would like to see Charlie more hands-on with the Defense. With the right OC in place (Gleeson), the 2019 or maybe 2020 team could be nearly as good as the 2016 & 2017 teams. I think we have plenty of weapons at WR/TE, and I'd love to see what Ford & CronKrite could do in that Offense. Willie turned it around in year 3, and it's entirely possible Charlie can too. Hopefully he is willing to step out of the "slow it down" philosophy on Offense, and put the pedal to the metal, but I just know he won't. Pretty cool that they're even considering bringing in an exciting offense again.

Part of me would prefer to leave it vacant but this coaching staff maybe an invaluable asset to our inevitable move to division-II so he can bring one coach with him as an Olive branch.
