So was there an official announcement this afternoon? Did I miss it?

I think Cincy, Memphis, Temple, Navy, UCF is a decent schedule. UConn is trash & SMU is assumed to be trash even when they have decent seasons. replace SMU with Houston & the conference schedule would be as good as it gets on paper. ECU has the potential to win an occasional big game or get ranked on an odd year but they also have the potential to be trash so from a "national perspective" they are kind of a neutral entity.

as for Wisconsin they will likely end up in preseason rankings off program reputation alone, altho I don't anticipate another Top 10 or Top 5 ranking for them the way they had going into this season.

my ultimate point is that USF still has a stronger overall program tradition than UCF despite the recent success & hardware UCF has. USF is more in the Boise category & I think that AND a strong schedule would give USF greater potential to crash the CFP than UCF.

Unfortunately this is not even close to being true. If it ever was true, it was for a very short period of time during the Leavitt years.

UCF has way more national juice than USF. If we don’t get our **** together they are going to continue to widen the gap.

We need to beat them in 2 weeks. The trajectory of the 2 programs is going in 2 different directions and it is CLEARLY in UCFs favor right now. Any thoughts to the contrary are just wrong and delusional.

Upon further review. I think I am good with his game. I guess we need at least one cupcake. The only thing is I wish it could be our first game and let Wisconsin be our 2nd.

I'm sure the quality losses will make up for the cupcake.

Yep

Oof, attendance is gonna be special if we are riding an 8 game losing streak with an FCS opponent at home.

I wouldn't assume anything. The good news is that a lot of the young guys will get a full off season of S&C.

Besides, you never know-we might actually have a good hire at OC and OL in the offseason. Strong doesn't seem too pleased with his current duo.

Hate to break it to you, but no one outside of our fanbase remembers/cares that we were once in a better conference. No one cares that we beat Auburn, Florida State, and Notre Dame a decade ago. To say we have a stronger overall program tradition than UCF and/or Boise is asinine at this point. They've won a combined 5 BCS/New Years 6 bowls now, we've yet to even compete for a conference championship. Truth hurts, but we have watched the gnats completely pass us by in the last 5 years and they are in the process of lapping us now.
