How does a team manage to get more total yards and 1st downs but lose by 26 points? It's one thing to win the stats and lose a close game, but 26 points is absurd.  This blowout is a head scratcher.

Tulane yards:

429 total.

61 passing (4-11).

368 rushing.

17 1st downs

USF yards:

442 total.

332 passing (29-49, about 60%).

110 rushing (59 were Barnett).

27 1st downs

Yes.  Not surprised and this reminds me of the "realize our offense puts up a lot of yards" thread earlier that made me laugh.

Easy, turnovers that give the other team short fields and poor special teams.

When you get down too far the other team will give you all the yards you want as long as they don’t give up a long, quick TD

You can average 600 yards a game. It don’t mean crap if ur not putting points on the board

Red zone offense was bad. The decision to give Ford almost twice as many carries as Cronk was awful.

When you realize that Sterling’s perfect offense is one designed to pick up 3.4 yards per play and results in any points this makes sense. Drive 70 yards and kick a field goal but run 20 plays and pick up 6 first downs? That’s a win for him.

We don't go that fast anymore. UCiF snaps the ball with 30+ seconds left on the play clock. We are in the low 20's when we do play with tempo. We averaged more plays per game than them last year.
