Michael Kelly is on record as saying if we run the table next year we better be in the playoffs or some people will have some explaining to do. No offense, but I think he's just a tad bit more knowledgeable in this area than you, I, or anybody else on this board.

Of course he did.  What else is he going to say?  But the bottom line is if Auburn beats Bama, but loses to UGA and Bama beats everyone but Auburn.  Both of those teams have a better resume than our 13-0 with that schedule.

Now maybe Kelly can sell it and politic us all the way to the CFP.  That's a big reason why he's here

Haha no friggin way...

All Kelly is doing through his comments is showing support of the program he works for. You are dreaming if you think a playoff committee will allow a G5 into its party. Not going to happen.

I think it could happen in 2022.  We beat Texas at home and UF and Louisville on the road while running the AAC table.  There's some legitimacy in that argument

So if the college football landscape doesnt change, by the time my kid graduates elementary school we MIGHT have a shot at the playoffs.

Riveting.

Speaking of Harlan, what about a 2 game series with Utah?

I'm pretty sure they still owe us a home game

When was the last time you heard of the privileged class giving up their advantages in the name of things being "fair" for everyone?

I think that Kelly being rah-rah supporting the program

And well he should ..... as long as doesn't go as far as, when we do go undefeated, proclaiming a national championship.

Pretty much.   College football from a playoff/championship stand point is a joke and always has been.  At least there is some sort of playoff now and by and large the "best" team in the country in probably in that final four, but it's ridiculous that half the teams in D-1 FBS start the season knowing they have no shot at the playoffs.
