This is absolute bs, especially if USF ends up getting slapped with violations due to this. This just serves as another example of how the Stan Heath era was a skidmark on the history of our basketball program, reinforces my belief that the administration within athletics at the time was grossly negligent or just plain incompetent (Doug Woolard & Co.) about how to manage the coaching staffs of the two largest revenue producing sports, and that any success that our program showed in 2011 was really just a facade. Even if Noreiga is blowing smoke, the bad PR along with the consistently poor performances are going to make the climb out of the MBB toilet that much harder for Coach Gregory. This just went from a dumpster fire to a f**cking dumpster inferno.

Will USF suddenly be worth their time? Will they report it as coming from a former "UCF" player? Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Antagonist said: not everything is about courts. OJ was found "not guilty" but we all know public perception about it is far different... & public perception is critical for athletics programs still working to establish an identity. while ONE player coming out with a story like this probably won't affect much, if MORE stories start trickling out it can & will hurt a lesser known program like USF regardless of whether they are litigated or not. & im not convinced court rulings should dictate the standards & expectations we have of our coaches & staff. whether something is LEGAL or not shouldn't be the minimum expectation, our standards should be higher than that. IMO, once a story like this goes to court it's already too late because the negative publicity can hurt the program long before a ruling is issued & regardless of whether the ruling is in the University's favor or not. we're not Bama, Clemson, FSU or Duke, UNC, Kentucky, etc... USF's name doesn't carry the weight to survive more than a couple stories like this without sustaining damage. Living in an era where simple accusations seem to win out, we should all be concerned and demand more. We do live by the rule of law, not accusation. These are treated as cash cows and the coaching carousel forces coaches to bend/break rules. Much of it outlined in The System. Football and basketball are all about money, not an education. Is there a reason this didn’t come out during the Antigua investigation? Different coaches but same school, seems like the perfect time to throw the school under the bus. Until I see more I’ll just assume Noriega is a disgruntled former player who is unhappy with where he is and is looking for a glimmer of the spotlight before he becomes completely irrelevant.

If it’s a story it is a quiet one. In the end it sounds like a disgruntled player.
